Dyanmic Google Charts

Keeping it up to date

A long time ago I realized that we needed a tool to watch our folders to see what image assets were due first. The simple idea that a folder named 1 would translate to that asset having 1 more day until it was due. It was a simple plan and seemed very easy until we grew to have several clients. Now the concept of looking in folders to see if work would show up became difficult.

I decided to create a dynamic google chart that would update every 10 mins and read the files from all the folder that might have images in them, so that the team could keep this window open and see when new assets would arrive. It also was designed to read the meta data from the asset and color code that on the chart to know if the asset was ready to be worked, or still needed to be sent to India for silo's. Information is key when it comes to workflow and the more information you have, and the easier it is to see, is key.  Below is an example of how the chart above would relate to the images in that folder.
